Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before you start to use our website www.aquariumgear.ie (“Website”). By using our website, you indicate that you accept these Terms and Conditions and that you agree to abide by them.

Products and Pricing

Every care is taken to ensure that product descriptions are accurate at the time of uploading products to the website. We reserve the right to withdraw any product from the website without any prior notification. We are also entitled to make adjustments to the price, to take account of any increase in our supplier’s prices, or the imposition of any new taxes or duties.
Whilst we try and ensure that all details, descriptions and prices on this Website are accurate, errors can occur. We will inform you of this as soon as possible, and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price, or cancelling it and receive a full refund of monies paid.


When you place an order on our website you will receive an email confirming that your order has been received.
We use Stripe to securely process credit/debit card payments.

Stock Availability

In the event that an item is not in stock, we will give you an estimated dispatch date, which is subject to stock availability with our suppliers. If we are likely to miss the estimated dispatch date, we will let you know as soon as possible.  We will offer you a suitable alternative where possible.

Shipping Details

For orders delivered within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, the flat shipping charges are:

  • €5.00 for all orders under €30
  • €10.00 for orders of €30 and above.
  • Free shipping for orders of €99 and above.

Items will be shipped 3-8 working days after receiving your order. All products are shipped from Dublin, Ireland.
Small packages will be delivered by An Post.  Large/heavy items such as aquariums/vivariums, external filters, bags of gravel etc. will be delivered by courier. We may deliver items personally from time to time, depending on location.

Courier Deliveries
We will inform you of the courier company and tracking number as soon as possible. Couriers require the delivery address and mobile phone number. If the customer does not have a mobile telephone number, a daytime fixed line telephone number or email address will be required.

Large/heavy items will be delivered on a pallet, as close as possible to your door. Delivery will be made via a drive or access area that a pallet and pallet truck can operate in. The courier is not available to assist to help lift the goods into your house, this is your sole responsibility.

Aquariums & Vivariums

We cannot accept claims for damages once you have inspected and taken delivery of your aquarium or vivarium. It is essential that you are satisfied with the condition of your aquarium/vivarium at the time you take delivery. If the aquarium/vivarium is damaged you should contact us immediately. We will ask you to send us photos so that we can assess the damage, and either arrange for replacement parts or replacement goods. We do not collect the damaged aquarium/vivarium, it is your responsibility to dispose of the damaged goods responsibly.

Cancellation Policy

You have the right to cancel your order within 3 working days of placing the order. You must return the goods to us in new and unused condition, in original packaging, in line with our Returns Policy. We must receive the goods within 7 days of the notice of cancellation, during which time you are responsible for any loss or damage. Once received in new and unused condition we will refund the purchase price less the original carriage charges.

Replacement Policy

If you receive faulty goods you must notify us within 7 working days. We will ask you to return the goods to us in line with our Returns Policy. Once we have verified the damage we will either replace the product, or give you a full refund, whichever you request. Where goods returned to us are in good working order we are not able to refund your return postage costs. We reserve the right to deduct our original postage cost and a restocking fee from any refund.

Manufacturers Guarantees

We work with the manufactures to ensure their guarantees are honoured. We will do our best to resolve issues within the warranty period. Postage costs can only be refunded under the manufacturer’s guarantee if the goods are returned to us within 7 days of the original purchase. Under no circumstances should goods be returned to us without prior approval.

Returns Policy

We have a 7 day return policy. To return goods you need to contact us by email or phone call in advance. Goods have to be returned to us at your expense. It is important that you obtain proof of posting as the goods are your responsibility until they are received by us. We can only refund postage costs if goods are returned within 7 days of purchase. You should use the cheapest postage method available as we are not able to refund the cost of any special delivery service.

Postage will only be refunded if products are being returned because there is a fault. We cannot refund postage for goods returned for any other reason, and we reserve the right to deduct our original postage cost.

Electrical Equipment

Please be aware that electrical goods such as aquarium pumps and filters emit noise during normal operation which you may consider to be excessive. You should be aware that manufacturers wording indicating noise levels are relative only. They do not necessarily give indications of measured decibel levels.

Use of Products

Any information contained on the Website is not meant to be comprehensive. Always read and follow the instructions when using any equipment or products. If you are inexperienced in using the Products, or are unsure of your abilities, you should always seek expert advice and assistance. Or contact the Product manufacturer.

Modification of Terms

We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions of use, or policies regarding the use of this Website at any time by posting an updated version of the terms and conditions of use on this Website. It is your responsibility to check the most up to date version of these terms and conditions.

Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform any of our obligations under these terms and conditions which is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Including, but not limited to any force majeure incident.


We may terminate the Website for any reason, at any time. In addition, we, in our sole discretion, may terminate your Account for violation of the letter or spirit of these terms and conditions.


We do not accept liability for any inaccuracies or omissions on this site. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither aquariumgear.ie nor any of its directors, affiliates or representatives will be liable for loss or damages arising out of, or in connection with your use of, or your inability to use, the products offered through this Website. Including, but not limited to, indirect or consequential loss or damages, loss of data, income, profit or opportunity, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties. Even if aquariumgear.ie has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damages, or such loss or damages were reasonably foreseeable.
