ZooMed Terrarium Moss

ZooMed Terrarium Moss

ZooMed Terrarium Moss is a completely natural sphagnum moss substrate for amphibians and reptiles from wetland environments, such as: frogs, toads, salamanders, garter or green snakes and all other moss environment species.

  • Great for use in humidifying shelters for all types of reptiles and amphibians.
  • Excellent for use as an egg-laying and incubation medium for a variety of reptiles.
  • All natural no dyes
  • Sustainably harvested

This is our preferred moss to use with our tortoises as it keeps it’s colour longer, and doesn’t disintegrate like other types of moss can.  It can also be reused, so it lasts a good while.

Instructions for use: Place the moss in a clean bucket full of water.  Squeeze the moss and allow it to absorb water, then remove the moss and wring out only leaving 15-20% moisture in the moss.  This moss can be cleaned 3 to 4 times before it should be replaced with new moss, follow instructions on box.

This terrarium moss is a great natural “top substrate” for the naturalistic terrarium set-up.  It can also be placed inside a hide, such as the Habba Hut to create a humid shelter.
