ProRep Hemp Bedding is a soft, fibrous substrate that is suitable for many species of snakes, tortoises or small mammals. Highly absorbent, dust free and odourless. It is 100% natural and biodegradable.

ProRep Hemp Bedding is made from the dried and chopped stem of the Hemp plant. This bedding can be used for many species but it is particularly suitable for those that like dry soft substrate, especially snakes.  It is also popular with many tortoise and mammal keepers.  Being a natural material it is non toxic if eaten. Hemp bedding should be used dry. It will absorb water spillages and animal waste allowing effective spot cleaning, but if kept wet it will mould and rot over time.

Spread the Substrate evenly over the bottom of the enclosure to a depth of 1 to 2″ (2.5 – 5 cm). Spot clean daily by removing soiled areas and replace with fresh substrate. Completely replace every 2 to 3 weeks or more if heavily soiled or wet.

When using with a Heat Mat:

If you are using a heat mat under substrate or a glass tank the substrate depth must be NO greater than 1 cm and the thermostat sensor MUST be positioned on the mat itself. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for more information.
